PDF Scanner: Reader & Editor

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how PDF Scanner: Reader & Editor (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) may handle information when you use the App. Actual processing depends on the features you use, your device, and third-party services included in the released version.

Before publishing: Verify this policy against the app’s actual code, data flows, permissions, and SDK configuration. Make sure the policy and Google Play Data safety disclosures match actual practices.

1. Documents and Files You Choose

The App may let you open, read, scan, annotate, convert, sign, merge, split, organize, or share documents you select. Android system file-picker APIs may be used to let you grant access to selected files. Depending on the feature, files may be processed on your device or by a service used to provide that feature. Do not assume every operation is exclusively local unless confirmed by the implementation.

2. Camera and Scanning

Camera access may be requested when you use document-scanning features. Images captured for scanning may be processed to detect page boundaries, improve readability, and create a PDF. Camera permission should be used only for the described feature. You can manage camera access through Android settings.

3. Signatures, Notes, and Annotations

Signatures you draw, highlights, notes, and other annotations may be stored as part of a document or as app data, depending on the feature. Treat saved documents as potentially sensitive and share them only with intended recipients.

4. Information Collected Automatically

If analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or other third-party SDKs are included, the App or those providers may process technical information such as app version, device and operating-system details, crash diagnostics, usage events, IP address, or advertising identifiers. Actual data collection depends on the SDKs and configuration. List the specific data types and providers applicable to the released version.

5. How Information May Be Used

6. Sharing and Third-Party Services

When you choose to share or export a document, the selected file may be sent to the app or service you choose. Third-party providers may process data under their own policies if integrated. We do not sell personal information as a standalone product. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.

7. Storage, Retention, and Security

Documents may be saved in a location you choose or within an app-managed location. Retention depends on where files are saved and which features are used. Uninstalling the App may not delete files saved outside its private storage. Reasonable safeguards should be applied, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

8. Password Protection

If the App offers PDF password protection, you are responsible for choosing and safeguarding your password. Not every file format or operation necessarily supports encryption; the protection provided depends on the implementation. Keep secure backups of important files.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately. If the App is directed to children or subject to additional child-related requirements, revise this section accordingly.

10. Your Choices and Rights

You can manage camera and other permissions in Android settings, choose which files to open or share, adjust available app settings, and uninstall the App. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information. Contact us to submit a request.

11. International Processing

If integrated service providers process information in other countries, information may be transferred internationally subject to applicable legal requirements and safeguards.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy when the App or applicable requirements change. The updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date.
